The Serene Natural Beauty of Chicago

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Chicago in person, you might not know that the natural beauty of this area can seem almost surreal at times. With huge swaths of green space, beautiful architecture and striking works of public art, there are endless ways to experience this city’s natural beauty first-hand, whether you want to commune with nature in one of the city’s many parks or simply gaze out from one of its many picturesque vantage points. Here are just a few ways to enjoy the serene natural beauty of Chicago.

Lincoln Park

Another great place to enjoy nature is Lincoln Park. Covering a massive 2,000 acres, it’s one of America’s largest parks. It contains many attractions including museums, memorials and vast stretches of greenery to enjoy. You can visit any time of year; summer offers plenty of grassy spots for picnics or festivals, while winter comes with its own pleasures such as ice skating on nearby Lincoln Park Pond and cross-country skiing. With so much to do in both summer and winter, you’ll have no problem finding activities to suit you and your family every day at Lincoln Park.

While it’s best known for its greenery, it also has a long history stretching back to when it was founded as a cemetery in 1836. Shortly after its creation, it was selected as the site for several prominent buildings and monuments, including one dedicated to President Abraham Lincoln. It features a great selection of cultural attractions too, including museums and memorials. However you choose to spend your time at whether picnicking, exploring or biking along Lake Michigan, you can enjoy a range of activities no matter what season. Come summertime there’s always plenty going on with festivals and events. Whether you want to participate or simply watch from afar; either way there’s something for everyone.

Lincoln Park Conservatory

The Lincoln Park Conservatory is one of the best places to see the natural beauty of Chicago. The scenic views and classic architecture are a perfect way to relax and enjoy the city. The conservatory is comfortable and inviting, with plenty of seating and a wide variety of plants to admire. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they offer a variety of programs and events throughout the year. If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Lincoln Park Conservatory is a perfect choice.

Just north of Downtown and Lake Michigan, Lincoln Park is a scenic destination for people all over Chicagoland. The best part about enjoying Lincoln Park is that you can tailor your experience to suit you. If you’d like to be active and see some amazing views at once, take a hike or bike ride through one of three parks: North, Midway or South. If you’re looking for a little history or culture, spend some time at any number of museums in and around Lincoln Park. Lastly, if nature and relaxation are more your style, visit any number of gardens in Lincoln Park including Queen’s Garden (the largest), Victorian-era Von Schiller Gardens and Clearing Horticultural Center.

North Avenue Beach

One of the most classic and comfortable places to enjoy the natural beauty of Chicago is North Avenue Beach. It’s a beautiful sandy beach with stunning views of Lake Michigan. You can relax on the beach, swim in the lake, or take a walk along the shore. There’s also a great path for biking or running along the water. The best part about North Avenue Beach is that it’s easily accessible from downtown Chicago.

You can get there by taking a quick bus ride to Lake Shore Drive, or even walk down from Michigan Avenue if you’re in that area. I love going to North Avenue Beach any time I need a break from the city. You’ll find me sitting back, relaxing in my chair and just enjoying everything around me – especially at sunset!

McKinley Park Lagoon

Have you ever taken a stroll through McKinley Park and stopped to admire the lagoon? It’s a serene and peaceful spot in the heart of the city. The lagoon is surrounded by trees and flowers, and there’s even a path that goes around it so you can take in the views. On the east side of the lagoon, there are some benches where you can sit down and watch people go by on Western Avenue. If your visit falls during winter, be sure to check out the ice skating rink when it’s open!

There’s a wide range of activities you can do at McKinley Park, from playing sports to jogging to having picnics. The lagoon is open for use by anyone so long as they pick up after themselves, and it even has a public restroom! There are many nearby shops that sell ice cream and snacks, so if you’re hungry after visiting, grab something to eat. Perhaps you’ll bump into some friends while you’re there or meet some new ones – it’s a very friendly place with an inviting atmosphere. One special thing about it is how clean it always is: no trash, litter or graffiti in sight! We all have different hobbies, but I find that McKinley Park helps me relax and forget about daily stresses.

Promontory Point/Sedge Meadow Walkway

Nestled atop a peninsula in Lake Michigan, Promontory Point is one of the most beautiful spots in Chicago. The serene Sedge Meadow Walkway leads you through lush greenery and wildflowers, providing stunning views of the cityscape. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Willis Tower. Promontory Point is the perfect place to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of Chicago.

Bowmanville Zoo

In the heart of the city lies a little gem known as the Bowmanville Zoo. Although it may be small, this zoo is bustling with over 1,000 animals from all around the world. In addition, there are many activities for both kids and adults. If you’re seeking the kind of silence, relaxation, and independence that can’t be found in the bustling of the city, look no further. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the serene natural beauty of Chicago.

If you’re looking for an animal-related outing that’s a little more adventurous, take a trip to Zion Wildlife Garden. You’ll find over 2,000 exotic animals living in different areas of Australia, Africa and North America. Plus, it has incredible interactive areas where kids can learn about animals from around the world. You can enjoy an hour or two exploring on your own or check out one of their guided tours to learn even more about these fascinating creatures. If you’re lucky enough to visit during feeding time, you may even get to witness some amazing acts!
