The Most Fantastic and Marvelous Destinations in Turkey

Turkey’s capital city of Ankara is the largest city in Turkey, but it’s Istanbul that steals the limelight with its fantastic museums and marvelous history. Whether you choose to visit Ankara or Istanbul, you can expect to see sights that will make your jaw drop. Here are just some of the most fantastic and marvelous destinations in Turkey that you can’t afford to miss if you plan on travelling there at any point this year.

Pamukkale

The first stop on our list is Pamukkale, which means cotton castle in Turkish. This natural wonder is made up of travertine, a type of limestone deposited by mineral-rich springs. Pamukkale is especially popular with tourists because of its therapeutic properties – the water is said to have healing powers! The best way to experience Pamukkale is by taking a dip in the thermal pools. You can also explore the ancient city of Hierapolis, which was built on top of Pamukkale. Hierapolis was once a thriving spa town, and you can still see the ruins of the Roman baths. If you’re looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate, Pamukkale is the perfect destination.

The next destination on our list is another fantastic place to relax – Cappadocia. Located in central Turkey, Cappadocia features some of the most amazing rock formations that you’ll ever see. The area has been shaped by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago, and due to erosion, you can now see a number of surreal rock formations like fairy chimneys and cones. You’ll also find plenty of caves carved into these rocks, but if you’re not much for exploring, don’t worry! There are plenty of hot air balloon tours where you can admire Cappadocia from above while taking some beautiful photos as well.

The next destination on our list is a fascinating city that’s sure to thrill your adventurous side – Istanbul. The largest city in Turkey, Istanbul is home to more than 14 million people, who live alongside historic architecture like mosques and palaces. It’s also one of the oldest cities in world, having been founded around 660 BC by settlers from Megara. Whether you’re interested in culture or adventure, there are plenty of things to do when visiting Istanbul. You can take boat tours along the Bosphorus Strait to see historic sites like The Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia Museum .

Turquoise coast

The first destination on our list is the Turquoise coast. This coastline gets its name from the beautiful, clear turquoise waters. Turkey’s most popular tourist destination for good reason! The water is warm and comfortable for swimming, there are plenty of beach activities to keep you busy, and the views are simply mesmerizing. If you’re looking for a thrill, you can try your hand at windsurfing or parasailing.

You can also visit underwater caves at some beaches. These were formed when two streams of water flowing into a fault line filled with layers of sand eroded and formed these unique chambers that you can explore. If you want to sunbathe, head to Limon Beach, where there’s a little bar on hand for drinks as well as plenty of comfortable lounge areas to rest your feet after a day spent exploring. There are lifeguards around so you can keep an eye on children swimming. While you’re here, try some fresh seafood—the local speciality—and sample traditional Turkish food like kebab from one of many beachside cafes or restaurants.

Icmeler Beach is a favourite of many visitors, partly because it’s much quieter than other nearby beaches. You can get your own sun lounger and parasol here, which makes it more relaxing. The bars and restaurants are very good value for money, so you’ll be able to eat out while on a budget. You’ll also find plenty of beachside cafes selling ice cream, fresh juices or cocktails. It doesn’t matter if you’re after something sweet or refreshing as there’s an option for everyone here!

Antalya

Situated on the Mediterranean coast, Antalya is one of the most beautiful places in all of Turkey. With its clear turquoise waters, long sandy beaches, and impressive historical sites, Antalya is a must-see for anyone visiting the country. On any given day there are concerts, circus shows, volleyball tournaments, dance competitions and much more happening right off shore! For those who want more seclusion there’s Konyaalti Beach where you can go horseback riding along miles of sand before taking a dip in the ocean.

While there are many different tour companies that offer these trips, you’ll find that once you’re out on these waters, it doesn’t really matter who you book with. All tours go along similar routes and include different stops for swimming or just to stretch your legs. You may even see dolphins jumping out of the water!
