Bukit Lawang, Sumatra

In fact, there are dozens of volcanoes that can be visited throughout Jawa, with some being more active than others. Some of these volcanoes are still too dangerous for locals to live near, and sometimes eruptions can force visitors to evacuate; despite this, locals and visitors alike can take safety precautions and watch volcanoes with curiosity.

Lake Toba, North Sumatra

Lake Toba is considered as one of world’s largest and deepest crater lake. Situated within North Sumatra province, Lake Toba has attracted people from all over the world. With its amazing natural environment, Lake Toba is one of top tourist destinations in Indonesia and also included in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites list since 2008. It is surrounded by many smaller towns such as Kuala Simpang Kiri, Koba and Sigli to name just a few.

If you want some more action, you can go exploring other parts of Lombok while staying on one of these tiny idyllic tropical jewels!

Most of Flores is undeveloped, although there are several popular tourist destinations around which you can spend your time. One of these destinations is Mt Raung, which happens to be Southeast Asia’s tallest mountain.
