Stunning Destinations of Tanzania: A Phenomenal Adventure

Tanzania has something for everyone—beaches, mountains, plains, forests, and canyons are all present in this East African country. If you want to experience nature at its best, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better place than Tanzania. Get ready to explore the diverse landscapes of this mind-boggling country with our guide to the stunning destinations of Tanzania!

Arusha National Park

The first stop on our list of the stunning destinations of Tanzania is Arusha National Park! This vibrant and majestic park is home to a variety of fantastic animals, including lions, elephants, and leopards. Plus, the views are simply marvelous. We definitely recommend a visit to Arusha National Park! It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen such an array of vibrant, majestic scenery that makes us want to say wow every five minutes. Plus, with all the fantastic creatures inhabiting this marvelous place – it really is a phenomenal adventure!

Mount Kilimanjaro – a must-see for any tourist! Mount Kilimanjaro is an icon on a scale that few other icons can match. Even if you don’t take pictures, just seeing it will be something you remember and tell people about in years to come. The ascent to its summit is such an interesting experience as well. The mountain changes drastically in appearance as you gain altitude, which makes it feel like an entirely different mountain at times! As well, because there are multiple paths up and down Mount Kilimanjaro, you can choose your own adventure depending on how fit you are or how much time you have to spare. We highly recommend climbing at least halfway up and then heading back down – either via same path or another path altogether!

Mount Meru – a fascinating place to explore! This mountain is incredibly beautiful. You can only see one or two sides at any given time, so it really feels like there are multiple mountains altogether. Plus, you can climb all four of its faces and get completely different experiences every time! If you’re into learning more about culture, there’s even a tribe that lives in one part of Mount Meru. We recommend doing some research before hand and then stopping by their village – as long as they don’t try to eat you first!

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is a must-see destination for many tourists visiting Tanzania. It is also one of the largest unbroken calderas in the world. The crater is home to an abundance of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and zebras. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the crater from the rim. For those who are interested in staying overnight, there are a number of luxury safari lodges around the crater.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area was established in 1931 to protect indigenous wildlife. Before it was protected, residents had already claimed some land within the crater for farming and livestock grazing. Many types of plants and animals have also since been introduced here, including lions, zebras, elephants, buffalos, as well as a number of domestic animals like cattle and goats. Over 120 bird species can also be found in the area, many of which reside at the many wetland areas throughout the conservation area. One example is Lake Ndutu, which offers plenty of chances to spot flamingos on its shores.
To explore this destination further, visitors should take a guided tour that includes a visit to Tarangire National Park or Ruaha National Park. If they want more than just sightseeing then they should consider taking part in activities such as game drives or horseback riding.

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tanzania. The park is world-famous for its large populations of lions, elephants, and other wildlife. The Serengeti is also home to the annual Wildebeest Migration, which is one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world. If you’re looking for an unforgettable safari experience, the Serengeti is the place to go.

The Serengeti is divided into a number of zones, and each zone offers its own unique attraction. Your safari trip to Serengeti can be further customized by adding side trips to Ngorongoro Crater or Mount Kilimanjaro. With top-notch infrastructure, excellent guides, and an array of 4-star accommodations at your disposal, you will feel right at home on your safari holiday in Serengeti. Moreover, all these attractions are located within easy reach from Arusha—Tanzania’s gateway city—or any other major city in Tanzania like Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. Most accommodation options offer free pick up from your hotel/resort.

Manyara Lake

The first stop on your Tanzanian adventure is the world-famous Manyara Lake. As you take in the panoramic views, you can’t help but be amazed by the sheer size and scale of this natural wonder. The lake is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and flamingos. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a rare tree-climbing lion!

The best way to explore this amazing place is by boat. Hop aboard one of the local canoes and get ready for an unforgettable excursion! You’ll soon see how extraordinary it feels to glide across the water’s surface while exploring towering cliffs that overlook hippo watering holes. Remember, don’t forget your camera so you can capture these memories forever!

While you’re in Manyara, you can also visit Chitimba town where you can dine at some great restaurants and catch a traditional dance show. And if you want to extend your stay, there are a number of comfortable lodges where you can lay your head at night. Then, once you’ve had your fill of wildlife and activities, grab a bus for two hours south to Dar es Salaam!

Tarangire National Park

One of the most popular national parks in Tanzania, Tarangire is well-known for its incredible biodiversity. The park is home to a large number of elephants, as well as other animals such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The landscape is also stunning, with its mix of savannah, acacia trees, and baobab trees. Visitors can go on safari drives or walks, and there are also a number of lodges and campsites within the park. There’s even an elephant orphanage that visitors can visit!

Chimpanzee Trekking – On Pemba Island: If you want to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat, Pemba Island is a must-visit destination. The primates are wild here, but visitors can go on guided treks and interact with them in a positive way. If you’re lucky, you might even see your favorite species of chimp! It’s also worth visiting Pemba for its other wildlife like zebras and birds like flamingos. Whatever it is that you love most about nature, there’s a good chance that it can be found here on Pemba Island.

Zanzibar – Sights and Activities: One of Tanzania’s most popular islands, Zanzibar is a fantastic destination for holidaymakers. There are endless sights to see here, including historical sites like Stone Town and Fort Jesus. In addition to these, there are miles upon miles of white sandy beaches to explore, which is perfect for those who love swimming in the ocean. If you’re looking for something a little different during your visit, try taking one of Zanzibar’s many excursions like surfing or scuba diving!
