Chlef is a city in northern Algeria. Chlef is the capital of the province. Constantine is a city in northeastern Algeria.

A fascinating array of preserved colonial architecture and a medina are among its major sights. Annaba is a city in north-eastern Algeria. In addition, Annaba is the capital of Annaba Province. Bejaia is a city in northern Algeria on Cape Bougaroun. Historically important as a port for trade between Africa and Europe, it’s an important hub for commerce and culture. Along with nearby Djémila and Tipasa, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

In modern times, Annaba is also an important university center in eastern Algeria. As for Bejaia, it was founded in Phoenician times but has been continuously inhabited since then. It was called Hippo Diarrhytus by the Romans; a direct translation of its Latin name would be white horse. Tipasa is a town in northern Algeria, North Africa. It is located at 36°33′N 1°50′E and has an elevation of 26 metres above sea level.

Terraced palmeries form a unique green area in M’Zab Valley, located south of Algiers. This place is especially interesting for those interested in ancient history and culture. The area was discovered by French traveller Henri Duveyrier in 1880, after whom one its villages is named. Duveyrier lived with villagers for years and learned about their custom-made irrigation system that allows cultivation during such an arid period. He also left us invaluable photos as well as a description in his famous book Voyage au Désert d’Algérie.
