Mesmerizing and Fantastic Destinations of Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is situated on the eastern half of the world’s second largest island, which is known as New Guinea or, in Papua New Guinean, as Papua. Bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the east and south, Papua New Guinea shares land borders with Papua New Guinea’s immediate neighbor, Indonesia, to the west, as well as with Australia to the north. Even though PNG has existed as an independent nation since 1975, it was once under Australian colonial rule until 1975 and this can be seen in its flag and national symbols, which have been inherited from Australia.

The Natural Beauty

There are many mesmerizing and fantastic destinations of Papua New Guinea. Some people find the country’s mountainous regions especially marvelous. Others are more drawn to the coastal areas, where they can relax in comfortable accommodations. No matter what type of scenery someone enjoys, they are sure to find it in Papua New Guinea. And they will also find that the people are friendly and hospitable, making their trip even more unforgettable.

Even if someone is not drawn to outdoor activities, there are plenty of reasons to visit Papua New Guinea. If they love spending time outdoors, they will be impressed by how much space there is. However, they may find that it’s challenging to locate comfortable accommodations in which to relax when they need a break from being outside. Despite any minor drawbacks, though, most people would agree that Papua New Guinea is one of the most fascinating countries in all of Asia.

Despite how naturally beautiful it is, some people may be concerned about visiting Papua New Guinea. They may worry about safety or potential health risks in general. However, such concerns can be put to rest when they learn more about traveling in such a safe country. Overall, there are few places that offer better natural beauty than Papua New Guinea. It’s also an incredibly safe destination where travelers will feel welcomed by both locals and fellow visitors. In addition to natural beauty, they’ll also find unforgettable experiences that they won’t soon forget.

Relaxation

The tropical paradise of Papua New Guinea is a marvelous place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. With its sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and lush rainforests, it’s easy to see why this country is a popular tourist destination. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back beach holiday or an adventure-filled trip, Papua New Guinea has something for everyone. Here are just a few of the many mesmerizing and fantastic destinations that this country has to offer.

If you’re looking for a laid-back beach holiday, then Mendi is your best bet. Not only are its sand beaches some of PNG’s finest, but it also boasts an abundance of marine life—from stingrays to schools of tropical fish—and has plenty of water sports activities on offer. There are many budget resorts located along both coasts that cater to visitors from around the world, so you can make your stay in Mendi as luxurious or cheap as you’d like. Enjoy a relaxing massage at one of the local resorts or even an exhilarating bungee jump off Kiki Beach!

An adventure-filled trip: If you’re seeking out an adventure-filled trip, consider visiting Tari in East Sepik Province. It’s remote location means you’ll be able to explore uninhabited islands, where there are chances of spotting dolphins and whales along the way. For those who want to visit a less secluded part of the country, head up north to Madang. You’ll find beautiful white sand beaches here (the closest thing to Boracay!) and plenty of nearby hiking trails for nature lovers. Lastly, don’t forget about Karimui in West New Britain Province! It’s been dubbed PNG’s hidden gem by Lonely Planet due to its stunning scenery including deep blue seas surrounded by green hillsides.

When to go?

Autumn (March to May) is the best time to visit Papua New Guinea as the weather is relatively dry and cool at this time. Spring (September to November) is also a good time to visit as the temperatures are a bit cooler than during the summer months. However, you should avoid visiting during the wet season (December to February) as heavy rains can make travel difficult.

Pack plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, a light raincoat and umbrella as it can rain any time. Comfortable walking shoes are also essential because even on a short trip you’ll likely do some hiking. In addition, don’t forget your camera as it will be hard to resist taking pictures at many places you visit during your trip. If you plan on doing a lot of hiking or going for an excursion, wear layers so that you can take them off when it gets warm. Lastly, carry a small towel in case you want to wash off after sweating from all that walking.
